Sesame-Crusted Burger with Wasabi Mayo
Home cooks love a good pantry clean-out challenge. It’s an opportunity for a culinary adventure, one that involves excavating shelves for salvageable food and improvising a menu with makeshift ingredients. I’m always astonished by how quickly my own fridge fills with randomness, like half-empty jars of olives and Greek yogurt quickly approaching the expiration date. The post-clean-out meal will be a hit or miss—but that’s okay.
It seems to me that blogger Dave was well up to the challenge by the looks of these Sesame Crusted Burgers with Wasabi Mayo, recently featured on his blog, The Food in My Beard. Sesame seeds and wasabi mayo—sounds like something you might apply to a salmon burger, right? Dave assures his readers that the sesame and wasabi flavors pair surprisingly well with beef. Looking at his burgers leaves me wanting to confirm this for myself.
If you’re up for a challenge, I encourage you to create your own unique burger and enter it in our Grill-lympics this weekend. You could win a lightening-fast grill lighter, or potentially an awesome Char-Broil grill, if your burger really impresses my FC colleagues. Hopefully these Sesame Crusted Burgers will lend you a little inspiration!
