I’m just back from the Home & Housewares Show, the annual trade show in Chicago for new kitchen appliances, gadgets, and eqiupment.

I’ll be writing in the pages of upcoming issues of Fine Cooking about some of the cool things I saw during my three days there, but here’s a sneak peek: KitchenAid’s latest color for their classic stand mixer. Called Electric Blue, it’s an automobile-inspired sparkly paint job that is a true standout.

The blue is along the same line of the candy apple red color KitchenAid introduced two years ago. What do you think? Does this make you want to upgrade your mixer?

Last year I came to know about KitchenAid Products. A friend of mine who is (living in USA) has told me about KitchenAid. I live in India and don't know exactly from where can I buy KitchenAid Products?
Could you please provide me more information about KitchenAid products in India?

I bought a new Kitchenaid mixer last year and I regret giving my old one to my daughter. The new model was larger with a bigger motor. However, the beaters don't reach the bottom of the bowl. I had to buy some washers to adjust it. The newer models are not made nearly as well as the older ones. Everything now is disposible and meant to break. I also had problems with my blender. The plastic part that rotates the blade dissolved. I had a very difficult time replacing it. I live in Canada and ended up contacting the US Kitchenaid to get the parts I needed.

You can buy just the glass bowl on Amazon and other places I am sure. I had the same feeling, total bowl envy!!

My problem is that I lust after the glass bowl. I have the cobalt blue KA mixer and love it, but I so want that glass bowl.
My DH thinks I am nuts -- "It's only a mixer"
He just does not know about things like this. The new blue is great, I have been trying to think of a good reason to purchase the red anniversary mixer just because of that bowl.
