Spring Rolls and Hot Sauce
Yet another day of incredible heat is going on in my neck of the woods, and the only thing I can think about eating is something fresh, simple and clean. Kind of like these Spring Rolls from Candice, the sassy beauty behind the blog Stiletto Chef. Why does she look so familiar? It’s probably because she was on the first season of Top Chef and has been featured in many magazines and television shows. But did you know she could blog, too?
Well, she can and does at Stiletto Chef, a blog that’s all about incorporating wellness into even the most indulgent foods out there. Candice loves to utilize what she calls “Foods with Benefits” and makes sure that her dishes always have protein, fiber and omegas to keep you full and feeling your best.
On a hot day like today, her fresh Vietnamese spring rolls are a perfect way to get some lean protein and tons of raw veggies all wrapped up in a piece of rice paper. With bright, refreshing flavors from leaves of fresh basil and cilantro, these vibrant spring rolls will keep you cool while the weather is, well, not.
Spring rolls are a great dish to make at home and can be really fun for kids, too. Everyone can design their own individual roll with the proteins and vegetables they love the most. What’s even better is that you don’t have to turn on the stove.
If you prefer to get your sweat glands pumping even more, a quick smear through some fiery hot sauce will heat up your taste buds as your body cools itself down naturally. Try Candice’s spring rolls today. Why not throw on a pair of stilettos while you’re at it?
