One day just isn’t enough, so we’re celebrating Earth Day all week long with recipe slideshows, a Facebook chat, and a cookbook/cookware set giveaway.
 
As part of that celebration, we’re pleased, and quite proud too, to announce that our publisher, The Taunton Press, has joined forces with the Chefs Collaborative–a national network of chefs, food professionals, and producers–on The Chefs Collaborative Cookbook: Local, Sustainable, Delicious Recipes from America’s Greatest Chefs.

North Carolina based-chef, Jay Pierce, a member of the collaborative, will host an Earth Day Facebook chat on Fine Cooking’s Facebook page Monday from 3-4 EDT.
 
And since the best celebrations include presents, one lucky reader will get an Anolon cookware set and a copy of The Chefs Collaborative Cookbook for our Earth Day Giveaway. Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Sweepstakes begins at 12:01 a.m. ET on April 22, 2013 and ends 11:59 ET on April 28, 2013. Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States, who are at least 18 years old, and to legal residents of Canada (except Quebec), who are at least 18 years old. Sweepstake void where prohibited.

TO ENTER: There are two ways to enter the giveaway. 1.) Visit our Facebook tab (http://a.pgtb.me/dkspsk) located on the Fine Cooking Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/finecooking) and complete the entry form, including first name, last name, and e-mail address. After submitting the entry form from our Facebook tab, Fine Cooking Giveaway entrants will be given the option to earn a maximum of 10 additional entries by referring their friends to enter our giveaway. If entrant accepts this option, they will be prompted to post a link to our giveaway on entrant’s personal Facebook timeline. For each one of entrant’s Facebook friends that enters our giveaway through the link posted, the entrant is granted an additional chance to win.

2.) You can also enter our giveaway by visiting (https://www.finecooking.com/item/51146), registering on the site if you haven’t already (includes your first name, last name, and e-mail address), and leaving a comment on the post. All entries become the property of the Sponsors.

• (5) Second place winners will be awarded the following: a copy of the cookbook The Chefs Collaborative Cookbook – $40.00 each – Total second place prize value is $200.00

Total Prize Value is $539.99

TAXES. Except where prohibited, all federal, state, provincial, local or other tax liabilities, including but not limited to luxury, sales, use, income, VAT, GST, and PST tax, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. In the event of a Canadian winner, Sponsor will deduct any applicable withholding taxes imposed by the U.S. and applicable state governments from value of prize award and the prize award value will be adjusted accordingly.

NO PRIZE TRANSFER OR SUBSTITUTION. No prize or any portion thereof is transferable or redeemable for cash. Any portion of the prize that is not used is forfeited. No substitutions for prize except by Sponsor, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be substituted.

TERMS/CONDITIONS: No transfer or substitution of prizes. Employees, officers, and contractors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of Sponsors, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, dealers, retailers, vendors of Sponsors, and all other persons/entities associated with this Sponsor and/or promotion, are not eligible. All Federal, State/Provincial and local laws apply. By participating, entrants agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless the Sweepstakes Entities and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from and against any claims made by winners, entrants, or any other third parties, related in any way to the operation of this Sweepstakes as well as any other claims, damages or liability due to any injuries, damages or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity or participation in this Sweepstakes.

WINNING: Giveaway will end at 11:59pm on April 29, 2013. On or about May 6, 2013, 6 winners will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by email within 10 days of the selection. Odds of winning will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received. One prize per person, household, or family.

CLAIMING PRIZES: Winners must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (or in Canada a Declaration of Compliance) within 10 days of notification, or prize may be forfeited. Winners will also be required to provide proof of age. (Tennessee residents will not be required to sign Publicity Release as a condition of winning a prize.) Residents of Canada, in order to win, must first correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question administered by mail or e-mail at Sponsor’s sole discretion. All prizes will be awarded.
