Welcome to Homegrown/Homemade. I’m a cook who needs some help in the garden and Fine Gardening‘s Danielle Sherry is a gardener who needs some help in the kitchen. We’ve teamed up to show gardeners and cooks of all skill levels how get the most out of their crops from seed to plate. In this series, we tackle that spicy salad favorite, arugula.

Episode One: How to Plant Arugula
In this episode, we head to the garden to plant arugula, a favorite green of mine for its sharp, spicy flavor. In my previous attempts to grow arugula, the greens were too stemmy and I didn’t get much to cook with. Danielle advises that simply choosing a new variety is the answer to my problems.
