Welcome to Homegrown/Homemade. I’m a cook who needs some help in the garden and Fine Gardening‘s Danielle Sherry is a gardener who needs some help in the kitchen. We’ve teamed up to show gardeners and cooks of all skill levels how get the most out of their crops from seed to plate. After Danielle helps me grow what I consider my biggest challenge yet: blueberries, we head into the kitchen where I know exactly what to do with these beauties.

Episode One: How to Plant Blueberries
Danielle explains the difference between highbush and lowbush blueberries, and shows me how to choose and plant the bushes to maximize the yield.

I have never thought of growing blueberries either. Luckily I can get blueberries in the forrest near by. Have never seen such high bluberry bushes though :-)

I discovered blueberries in the yard of my new house. This video series taught me the basics of caring for them. So, now I look forward to a nice harvest next summer. Thank you!
