Add Recipe Note

1. Trim the outer leaves by pulling downward so the leaves break off at the base.
2. Keep pulling until you get to the core of pale green leaves.
3. Trim the stem with a sharp paring knife.
4. Shave off rough areas around the base.
5. Cut off the top 1/2 inch of the artichoke.
6. Halve the artichoke and rub all cut surfaces with lemon to prevent browning.
