Think your appliances occupy a lot of real estate? They’re teeny compared to this original Kitchen Aid mixer, which stands just over two feet tall at the manufacturer’s booth. The mixer shown here was first introduced in 1919, and was sold door-to-door by a female sales force. In 1919, they sold for $189.50, equivalent to about $1,900 today. Even more surprisingly, the modern attachments still fit this original–in case you happen to have inherited your great grandmother’s.
