There are days when I think being a vegetarian might not be so bad (especially after I’ve spent the better part of the weekend coming up with ways to use my CSA haul before next Tuesday’s pick up). And then I remember BLTs. Or I bite into some dish that reminds me then and there why I’ll never give up meat.

Case in point: the salt and pepper ribs at Irving Mill in New York. Crispy fat, tender meat, intense salt: these were ribs for the record. I had to sit on my hands for fear of eating the table’s supply.

(Good tip: During the restaurant’s nightly happy hour, the ribs are a dollar each. Order large.)
