We’re back for Season 2 of The Fine Cooking podcast, just in time for Thanksgiving. Our editors discuss what they are thankful for in the food world. Then, Heide Lang interviews Carla Hall about her favorite soul food recipes for the biggest food day of the year.

What Our Editors are Thankful for

Chris is grateful for his ever-growing collection of cookbooks. Diana puts all of her kitchen gadgets to use on Thanksgiving, including her oven, slow-cooker, countertop oven, and her Instant Pot. Sarah is also most thankful for her double oven.

Interview with Carla Hall

We are so excited to have Carla Hall join us to talk about her Thanksgiving recipes featured in our October/November issue. Carla is the former cohost of The Chew and the author of many cookbooks, including Cooking with Love, Carla’s Comfort Foods, and Carla Hall’s Soul Food.

Carla’s favorite Thanksgiving is her cornbread dressing (also known as stuffing to Northerners). For a quicker-cooking turkey, Carla breaks up her turkey before cooking it.

Angel biscuits are also a staple on the table for Thanksgiving because you get the best of both worlds. Finally, it’s not a complete table without some creamed kale.
