This winter, we asked our Facebook fans to share their favorite warm-weather ways to cook Australian lamb. Your answers ran the gamut from BBQ lamb to homemade shawarma. We chose three of the most delicious-sounding ideas, turned them over to our test kitchen, and published them here.
Jodi Reiner shared this idea for grilled Aussie lamb tacos–a Mediterranean riff on the beloved Mexican standard, with thin slices of grilled garlic-and-ginger-rubbed lamb loin and a colorful sweet-tart pomegranate-mint salsa topping it off.
From Heather Reid came the idea for Australian lamb burgers piled high with pickled red onions, roasted root vegetables, and a sunny-side up egg. You’ll have to unhinge your jaw to bite into it!
Finally, Michelle Stevens suggested a garlic-and-rosemary-studded leg of lamb with a delicious crunchy crust of goat cheese, Dijon mustard, and panko, perfect for Easter or any special occasion dinner.
UPDATE: We have a winner: Michelle Stevens’ panko-crusted leg of lamb!
