Jen and Denise: Seafood gawkers. Sometimes waiting until the recipe tester is done telling us about a dish is really, really hard.
We finally broke our sweet test kitchen intern, Julia. She did a lovely job cooking a dish that’s not going in the magazine after all…
But then we made amends with a cake, flowers, and a Hobbit cookbook. Happy 24th birthday, Julia! (We calculated, that makes the rest of us about 100 years old.)
We weren’t sure why this romaine came wrapped in a reusable, Velcro band, but Danielle figured it out.
It’s August, and the tomatoes are huge. I figured if I buzzed around Danielle’s kitchen long enough, she’d offer a piece, but no dice.
