Juli lured a sick Layla down to the test kitchen with the promise of soup. Of course, nothing in the test kitchen can be eaten without first being photographed.
And birthday treats the next day made up for the wait. The theme was high-low, with fruit tarts and recipe tests out of a storage container. You could say it matched Layla perfectly.
We’re still getting good corn, and testing with it as much as we can. Julia preps for salsa.
There was also a shellfish bonanza this week. Four shellfish, four dishes, very happy tasters. This is where we say it’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it.
Did we mention that we also closed our December/January issue? It’s off to the printer now. Jen takes a last look at the features, on her office wall.
Tinsley takes advantage of a late-afternoon break in the action after close to get the office supplies organized.
