Our food stylist, Samantha Seneviratne, has a great eye for food presentation. When she prepared the meatloaves for the Meatloaf Recipe Maker and Fine Cooking 109’s cover, she decided to bacon-wrap the loaves using a cool diagonal pattern rather than simply laying the bacon strips straight across. Here’s how she did it:
Layer and Trim Layer overlapping strips of bacon on the meatloaf on the diagonal, covering the meat as much as possible. Trim the ends of the bacon, leaving a 1/2-inch overhang. |

Tuck and Patch Gently tuck the bacon overhang under the meatloaf. Use additional bacon strips, trimmed as necessary, to patch any uncovered areas. |
