Did you know that your instant-read thermometer’s protective sheath can be used as a handle for the thermometer? It’s a useful feature for keeping your hand out of steam’s way when you need to check the temperature of something that isn’t solid. Simply push the thermometer all the way into the hole you’ll find either drilled through the plastic sheath or as part of the metal pocket clip.
