It’s the essential ingredient that gives hummus it’s lush creaminess, but there are many more uses for that jar of tahini you’ve bought than just hummus. For starters, think dessert: its slight bitterness makes it an intriguing alternative to peanut butter and a natural pairing for chocolate. On the savory side, tahini is a main ingredient in other dips such as baba ghanouj, or playing its own starring role in sauces and dressings. It even makes a stellar marinade.
