Piri-piri sauce

What is it?

Peri-peri sauce, made from a mixture of chiles, spices, citrus, and onion, is used in recipes to impart a unique tangy heat. The sauce originated in Portuguese cuisine, and is named for the peri peri (or piri piri) chile, native to Africa.
