What is it?
Developed by Lundberg Family Farms, Wehani Rice originated from a type of Indian basmati seed. It is brownish-red in color with a nutty, hearty flavor, and it has a mildly chewy texture that resembles wild rice. When cooked, it gives off a buttery aroma reminiscent of peanuts.
Don’t have it?
Substitute brown basmati or long-grain brown rice.
If you can’t find Wehani rice, double the amount of barley; the salad won’t be as colorful, but it will still taste great.
