This dinner for four is kid-friendly not just in terms of tastes: sweet-and-tangy Asian-style meatball wraps that are fun to roll up and eat with your hands and toasted almond wonton crisps. But the recipes practically invite participation and cooking from kids, whether it’s just adding ingredients to their own wraps, or sprinkling sesame seeds on the rice, or helping make the wonton crisps by brushing on the egg whites and sprinkling with the almonds. And when dinner’s all over, there are very few pans to clean up, just a few baking sheets. So more family time!

Up to Four Hours Ahead

  • Make the wonton crisps.

40 Minutes Ahead

  • Shape the meatballs and toss the carrots with seasonings.

30 Minutes Ahead

  • Heat the oven for the meatballs.
  • Start cooking the rice.

20 Minutes Ahead

  • Roast the carrots and meatballs.
  • Chop peanuts and prep lettuce for wraps.
