Ingredients

  • 8 cups water
  • 1/4 cup sea or kosher salt
  • 2 Tbs. granulated sugar
  • 2 lemons, cut in half
  • 3 bay leaves, preferably fresh
  • 8 garlic cloves, crushed and peeled
  • 2 Tbs. fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 Tbs. black peppercorns
  • 1 tsp. red pepper flakes

    My go to brine. His high low Pork chops in this brine with the glaze are totally to die for. I use this basic brine for pork and poultry. Try it and grill a turkey!!
