Very easy to make and delicious! Everyone here at home loved it. I used Safeway Texas French Toast Bread (thicker slices) and 1% milk instead of half and half since that's what we had in our fridge. Also used E. Guittard 61% chocolate wafers which was easy to put on the slices while they were still hot. Easily melted. Yum!
My kids love these! It's a great alternative to ordinary French toast and very easy to make. I did find that if I put the chocolate on the bottom slice of bread after I'd turned it to brown the second side, then put a cooked slice on top, it would melt the chocolate a bit better. I used basic milk chocolate & found it a bit sweet but a darker chocolate would be nice too.
