I like to invite my guests to enjoy a drink while I fry the onions; then I offer baskets of onion rings fresh from the fryer. Make the batter at least an hour before you plan to fry, as it needs to rest.
used sweet onions which I think was a mistake..... will use a sharper onion next time for better flavour. The batter was a nice texture but could have used a little more salt..... overall successful and worth a second try
