White truffle oil gives this traditional vinaigrette depth. But many so-called truffle oils don’t contain a whisper of a truffle (they’re flavored with chemicals). It’s important to read the label and look for the real deal for the best flavor.

Contrary to another post, one can easily find truffle oil with actual truffles from many sources; my most recent purchase was through Amazon. On the subject of Moveable feast, Episode 4 of Season 1 does not contain this recipe, although chef Scott Samuel is featured. I looked for it because the quantities of ingredients seem quite far off.
At this time none of the truffle oils contain truffle.
Easy and loved it. But left off the truffle oil as my husband doesn't like it. I usually have to ask if he liked something new, but he comment how much he liked what I had done with the asparagus and tomatoes. I also used those lovely mini San Marzano tomatoes. Thank you Fine Cooking for always making cooking fun and elegant.
