Shirley Temple Ice Cream Sodas

Don’t let the name fool you: the kirsch makes these fun ice cream floats a decidedly grown-up treat…with a twist of nostalgia.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup kirsch
  • 1 quart ginger ale
  • 4 maraschino or brandied cherries

Preparation

  • Put a 1/2-cup scoop of ice cream in each of 4 tall glasses. Drizzle 2 Tbs. kirsch over each one and top off with ginger ale. Garnish each with a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately with a straw and a long-handled spoon.
