Soy-Honey-Sesame Glaze

Yield: Yields 3/4 cup, enough for 3 to 5 lb. of meat.


  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sake or rice wine
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 Tbs. minced fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 2 Tbs. toasted sesame oil


  • In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and let simmer until reduced to a thick glaze.
  • Brush on the sauce toward the end of grilling.
